  • How big is the farm?
    The farms size is 13 000ha
  • Which arrangements must I make with regards to border crossing?
    Determine beforehand whether the border is open for bringing in fresh produce, meat and diary. If applicable, ask for a permit to bring them in.
  • What vehicles are available, should I want to make use of one?"
    A game viewer and 2 hunting vehicles are available.
  • What arrangements must I make to bring my vehicle or trailer?
    Bring original registration papers. If vehicle is financed, ask for papers from financial institution.
  • What costs are involved with border crossing?
    Please note that these prices are valid for passenger vehicles, larger vehicles may differ. Roadworthy Permit - Valid for the year it was taken out. Approximately P 50.00 Road Accident Fund - Valid for 3 months. Approximately P 40.00 Short Term Permit - Once off fee. Approximately P60.00
  • Can I drink the water?
    Yes, our water is safe to drink. Fresh water from our borehole.
  • Is it safe to walk around the camps?
    Yes it is, but not advisable at night due to leopard activity. Always walk in pairs during the day.
  • What are my chances of getting Malaria?
    Highly unlikely, but we advise that you bring mosquito sprays/lotions as the mosquitoes become bothersome.
  • Do you have airconditioners in tents?
    Kwalata Main Camp do have airconditioners in all tents. Duma Tsa tented camp does not have airconditioners.
  • Are there special requirements bringing in my rifle?
    Yes you will need a temporary import permit from you local police station in South Africa as well as a permit for Botswana. We will gladly assist with the necessary paperwork from our side.
  • Are there elephants or lions at Kwalata Ranch?
    No
  • Can you arrange for my trophy to be exported?
    Yes, we will make all the arrangements for you.
  • Does Kwalata Ranch have an airstrip?
    Yes, we do have a licensed airstrip. The best is to fly directly to Gaborone or Limpopo Valley, clear customs then fly directly to Kwalata Ranch. Please refer to our contact page for more details about our airstrip.
